I keept getting asked about the Streets of the South End (known as the Dingle)

Dingle is where I'm from and the Streets People wanted was not there in 1900, so I have added three Sheets X9 to X11 far right in BOLD. as a little bit of fun if you see a ? on the Arrow Keys there is a Suprise Image, I will Expand on this as time allows

This Project was started while doing my family tree and finding the adress given was no longer there, or renamed, I found this map on a Family History Site. I started using it and one day the site had gone, I used a program called Wayback Machine and was able to rebuild the site on my PC. The next stage was to rewite the Site as there where errors, and unamed streets.

I thought it would be good to add local landmarks, such as Pubs and such. As it's an on going Project I will replace bad map images when found, plus add landmarks or renamed streets.

The map used is based upon the 6 inch to 1 mile street maps of Liverpool and district compiled by John Bartholomew, in particular the 1899 and 1901 editions.

The map can be navigated by using a grid on the map Screen. Clicking on any square will take you to a page containing a large image of each map as well as the names of all the roads and streets within that section.

It will be then be possible to move to adjacent map sections and also to 'zoom out' to a map containing nine squares to obtain a wider view of the area. The blue borders on the grid indicate the boundaries of these larger sections. Some had not been built by 1901, others had already disappeared, and some were not included by John Bartholomew - possibly because they were considered too small or contained no residential or commercial property
